Posted onVerified What a beautiful place to stay. Love the stone cottage, so peaceful with everything you could need. So much wildlife right at the back door but best part was sitting on the back deck quietly watching the white wallabies each night. The double spa was relaxing and the cottage was a great location - close to the beach and attractions. Liz was a fantastic host and very responsive to any questions we had. The house was extremely clean and private, with a beautiful view of the surrounding wildlife. The host was informative, friendly, and incredibly helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.There were so many things to do in the area, from hiking trails to local attractions, we were never bored. The only draw back was the lack of TV reception and no wifi available. On check in, the in room manual said to not expect good reception or wifi due to the location. However the sales add specifically makes mention of wifi. I have Starlink wifi and use it on the boat, in the bush etc and k ow that this would work well in this location as well. I don’t think one should advise a service to be available and not offer that service. Other than that we had a great relaxing time, loved the animals and would advise family and friends to stay but make them aware of the tv and wifi situation. ThanksPosted onVerified Liz place was so beautiful! Very private the scenery was amazing! The bathroom was awesome, spa bath was very nice and relaxing. The king bed was so comfortable and the place overall was very warm! Didn’t need the heater or the fire on, built well! The kitchen had everything you would need to cook your meals as Bruny is on the expensive side when eating out but buying grocery’s on the way their much cheaper. The setting was amazing with a wonderful array of wildlife. It was a really convenient place to stay on Bruny Island, being close to a beautiful beach, the cruises, supplies and was very central.Posted onVerified At one with nature We stayed at Adventure Bay Retreat and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, you have a washing machine for convenience, and I think that my favourite thing was the wallabies, I counted about 16 one day, most of them had a baby in the pouch. We also saw an echidna not far from the back of the cabin, nosing around the bush. The process was simple and easy to come and go as we pleased. My husband caught some squid from the jetty up the road, they were delicious. The company that does the cruise around the island is well worth the money, it was fantastic and the staff on the boat very experienced boatmen. If you want peace and nature then this is your place, we loved it and the little local shop is very handy, we bought the lamb chops, and they were very tender and delicious. The oyster shack is well worth the visit, yum.Posted onVerified This retreat is hard to beat! The cottage is absolutely idyllic! It's cosy and comfortable and beautifully appointed, with stunning views from every window and wildlife right on your doorstep - wallabies and their joeys, birdlife galore. It was wonderful and we could have stayed forever. The location is fabulous, close to the beach and the local shop and cafes, but tucked away from the main road (not that it's busy). All we could hear was the breeze in the trees and the waves crashing onto the nearby shore. Bruny Island is astonishing and the retreat was the perfect place to stay and unwind and just watch the magic of nature. Words don't do it - or the island - justice. It's a remarkable part of the world. We are already planning a return trip and will stay much longer next time, because it was honestly hard to leave. We loved every second.Posted onVerified Luxurious, romantic and special ???? We adored staying in the ‘The Cottage’. It was absolutely gorgeous, so romantic, unique and luxurious! The view was lovely and we always had wallabies and birds to watch graze, even a white wallaby! The layout and fit out of the property was both beautiful and functional. The kitchen had everything we needed to be self sufficient and cook our own meals. We LOVED the spa and the view that came along with it. The tv didn’t have streaming capability which I would have expected for the price point but it had plenty of free to air channels and we loved the selection of DVDs to choose from! The fire place was fantastic and we were always super warm and cosy! Can’t recommend this stunning retreat enough!Posted onVerified Paradise on Bruny Island We stayed in The Studio at Adventure Bay Retreat for four nights, it was definitely the highlight of our trip. Usually your accomodation while away is just somewhere to sleep, but at Adventure Bay Retreat it was somewhere you really looked forward to returning to each afternoon/evening. The Studio is set on the hill in a beautiful spot and the garden was full of Bennett's Wallabies each morning and evening, and some beautiful birds call the garden home as well. As a keen nature photographer, this was heaven for me. The Studio itself is a lovely little building and is well-appointed with a very comfortable king-size bed. Bruny Island is a very special place, and I couldn't recommend this accomodation any more highly.Posted onVerified Ah the serenity! Communication was prompt and friendly. I went with my two sisters and it was great having a bedroom each with luxury bedding. The big kitchen table was terrific for our games and many nibbles. The setting is so peaceful and quiet with a stunning vista. It was within walking distance to the beach. Heaps of parking with easy access. So excited that we saw a white wallaby. Also enjoyed the bird life!Posted onVerified Wallabies everywhere!! This is the place to stay if you want to see lots of wallabies -- including albino wallabies. They were extremely cute. It was a lovely place to stay while on Bruny Island for a few days. The location is excellent - very central, up a small valley and with views of the sea. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge area, bedroom with sea views, large comfy bed and huge luxurious bathroom. It is beautifully presented with high quality fittings and furnishings. The situation is so peaceful and quiet, with lovely views of both the countryside and the coast. Ideally situated for getting around the island. I so enjoyed watching the wallabies playing outside while soaking in the copper bath! We even saw the rare white wallabies from the studio.
