Travel2901372023-11-10Fantastic stay on Bruny What a fantastic space! We stayed in the studio which had everything we needed & really comfortable. The setting was amazing with a wonderful array of wildlife. It was a really convenient place to stay on Bruny Island, being close to a beautiful beach, the cruises, supplies and was very central.
Maureen V2023-10-24At one with nature We stayed at Adventure Bay Retreat and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, you have a washing machine for convenience, and I think that my favourite thing was the wallabies, I counted about 16 one day, most of them had a baby in the pouch. We also saw an echidna not far from the back of the cabin, nosing around the bush. The process was simple and easy to come and go as we pleased. My husband caught some squid from the jetty up the road, they were delicious. The company that does the cruise around the island is well worth the money, it was fantastic and the staff on the boat very experienced boatmen. If you want peace and nature then this is your place, we loved it and the little local shop is very handy, we bought the lamb chops, and they were very tender and delicious. The oyster shack is well worth the visit, yum.
Burma Owl2023-10-22This retreat is hard to beat! The cottage is absolutely idyllic! It's cosy and comfortable and beautifully appointed, with stunning views from every window and wildlife right on your doorstep - wallabies and their joeys, birdlife galore. It was wonderful and we could have stayed forever. The location is fabulous, close to the beach and the local shop and cafes, but tucked away from the main road (not that it's busy). All we could hear was the breeze in the trees and the waves crashing onto the nearby shore. Bruny Island is astonishing and the retreat was the perfect place to stay and unwind and just watch the magic of nature. Words don't do it - or the island - justice. It's a remarkable part of the world. We are already planning a return trip and will stay much longer next time, because it was honestly hard to leave. We loved every second.
295carlys2023-07-04Luxurious, romantic and special ???? We adored staying in the ‘The Cottage’. It was absolutely gorgeous, so romantic, unique and luxurious! The view was lovely and we always had wallabies and birds to watch graze, even a white wallaby! The layout and fit out of the property was both beautiful and functional. The kitchen had everything we needed to be self sufficient and cook our own meals. We LOVED the spa and the view that came along with it. The tv didn’t have streaming capability which I would have expected for the price point but it had plenty of free to air channels and we loved the selection of DVDs to choose from! The fire place was fantastic and we were always super warm and cosy! Can’t recommend this stunning retreat enough!Andrew H2023-05-15Paradise on Bruny Island We stayed in The Studio at Adventure Bay Retreat for four nights, it was definitely the highlight of our trip. Usually your accomodation while away is just somewhere to sleep, but at Adventure Bay Retreat it was somewhere you really looked forward to returning to each afternoon/evening. The Studio is set on the hill in a beautiful spot and the garden was full of Bennett's Wallabies each morning and evening, and some beautiful birds call the garden home as well. As a keen nature photographer, this was heaven for me. The Studio itself is a lovely little building and is well-appointed with a very comfortable king-size bed. Bruny Island is a very special place, and I couldn't recommend this accomodation any more highly.
Milena Z2023-05-04Ah the serenity! Communication was prompt and friendly. I went with my two sisters and it was great having a bedroom each with luxury bedding. The big kitchen table was terrific for our games and many nibbles. The setting is so peaceful and quiet with a stunning vista. It was within walking distance to the beach. Heaps of parking with easy access. So excited that we saw a white wallaby. Also enjoyed the bird life!
kristenw19672023-04-07Wallabies everywhere!! This is the place to stay if you want to see lots of wallabies -- including albino wallabies. They were extremely cute. It was a lovely place to stay while on Bruny Island for a few days. The location is excellent - very central, up a small valley and with views of the sea. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge area, bedroom with sea views, large comfy bed and huge luxurious bathroom. Highly recommended.
Diana0142023-02-09Beautiful accommodation on lovely Bruny Island We stayed in The Studio for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. It is beautifully presented with high quality fittings and furnishings. The situation is so peaceful and quiet, with lovely views of both the countryside and the coast. Ideally situated for getting around the island. I so enjoyed watching the wallabies playing outside while soaking in the copper bath! We even saw the rare white wallabies from the studio. A wonderful place to stay.

We stayed in the very well appointed Lodge which was great for 2 couples could accommodate 3 & 4 if you are happy to share (bunks) Everything you would want while sitting in front of the wood fire (we needed it in February- be prepared).
Jen H2023-01-16Classy cottage close to a magnificent beach. We stayed in the Studio for 4 nights. It was very restful, with friendly wallabies keeping us company. The Cottage is so comfortable and fitted out with top quality fittings and decor. Ten minutes walk to one of the best beaches in Tasmania. Highly recommended!
Tina2023-11-13Idyllic ☺ The cottage was stunning!!! It was cosy, light filled and beautifully appointed, with a well-equipped kitchen. The bed was super comfy. Looking straight out the window at the landscape and the passing parade of wallabies every morning was a delight. In short, we loved every second and will definitely be back. ☹ That we only stayed for 2 nights. We could have stayed forever.

Franziska_k2023-10-30Really nice house, bathtub and watching Wallabies. ☺ We had the most amazing and relaxing couple of days ever. We really enjoyed the house. We had really bad weather, so we used all the features that the house had to offer. Sitting in the bathtub and looking at the wallabies with their babies was just a dream. We also have seen Albino Wallabies and their babies. It was also my birthday and it was just beautiful. It was clean. Privacy because the other houses are far away and surrounded by the forest. Big beds and lots of room. ☹ I would have wished for a bathrobe and bath salt or so. The sleeping room and the open bath was good but weird with the toilet around the corner. The stairs up to the little top-level Platform are not safe and a bit broken. The owner or multiple cars came one day multiple times driven past and we didn't have privacy as you can't cover any windows apart from the sleeping rooms. The towel's being a bit small. A bit expensive as well. Chimney had a bit of dripping from above after the heavy rain

Rowan2023-09-24A nice, comfy cottage in a very sleepy part of Bruny ☺ We stayed in the spa cabin. It was a lovely stone building set in a large grassy field. There are plenty of wallabies and birds around. The cabin was very large - a huge bed, good kitchen and dining table. The bathroom and spa area are also well appointed. It was lovely to wake up to your private view over the fields with the morning sun coming in the window - a very pleasant way to have a lazy start to the day. ☹ There are a few herbs and spices provided in the kitchen, but not much else (no oil, glad wrap, etc) - make sure you stock up your provisions on the mainland or at the small general store just up the road.
